TxDOT’s Transportation Survey

TxDOT Statewide Multimodal Transit Plan

Help Us Spread the Word!

We’re reaching out because we’d like to know your community’s opinions about transportation in Texas.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is developing its first-ever Statewide Multimodal Transit Plan (SMTP) to improve mobility and connectivity options for all Texans. The SMTP will identify needs and opportunities for public transportation policies and strategies and provide the framework for prioritizing future investments, now through 2050.

We have launched a survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TxDOTTransitSurvey (English) and https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EncuestadeTransportedeTxDOT (En Español) and encourage you to share it with your community for feedback. This valuable input will be considered when making decisions to ensure the future of public transportation in your area is designed to meet the needs of those who live there effectively.

With this plan, TxDOT wants to:

  • Identify the strategies and investments necessary to ensure the Texas mobility network is equipped to meet the needs of its residents in the face of tremendous population growth.

  • Create a single, consensus statement of value, needs, and priorities to establish public transit’s role in the broader transportation network.

  • Identify goals, objectives, and strategies to address access, connectivity, safety, and congestion relief throughout the state.

  • Align with existing long-range public transportation plans, as well the SATP and Connecting Texas 2050.

  • Support regional and local public transportation plans and priorities on a statewide level.

  • Better the historic levels of federal investments in transportation.

We will also be going to different places across the state to talk with people about this plan. If your community needs physical copies of this survey, please reply to this email and we will make those resources available.

If you have any questions, please contact Frances Jordan  at [email protected]. We can’t wait to hear from you and continue to work together to make transportation in Texas better.
