Superintendent's Message

Greetings from the Superintendent’s office! As we move toward the end of the 2021-2022 school year, and prepare for graduation, I would like to express my thanks to our hardworking teachers and staff, who have put forth great effort during the pandemic to continue to educate our students. The community has been supportive of our efforts, and we are very appreciative of that. Waelder ISD has grown over the past year, even in spite of the pandemic. We have continued to upgrade the courses we offer, including a variety of Advanced Placement courses, as well as dual credit courses. Our students enjoy more academic options than at any time in the past decade.

As with any organization, there is always room for improvement. As a public school, of course there are detractors and those that do not support our school or the students here. I would say to these folks that they should really get to know our school better. We have great students and the teachers that we have on staff care a great deal about not only the academic success of our students, but also about developing the whole person of each end every one of them. Fortunately, the majority of our community is supportive of the school and are proud to be part of the Waelder Wildcats!

The upcoming 2022-2023 school year promises to be an interesting and exciting one, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the many planned events!
